Time and again other people, especially the scamsters, go
on and on about traffic. They talk about hits, about referral,
about volume. Never once do they even consider whether you
can turn that traffic into profit.
Conversion rates are more important than traffic. It is often
far easier to make twice as many sales by better targeting,
rather than just trying to get twice as many visitors.
The vast majority of ecommerce ventures out there are converting
less than 2 percent of their visitors into paying customers.
They invest a great deal in all the methods of attracting
visitors, and then throw over 98 percent of that investment
away.
When a visitor comes to your ecommerce site, this is a sign
of interest, and if you are unable to convert that interest
into a sale, then either you are drawing the wrong prospects
to your store, or you are disappointing their hopes in some
other way.
As an Internet Marketing Consultant, one of my key services
is in helping my clients to dramatically improve conversions.
I help them identify their key areas of strength, and to eliminate
or counter any key weaknesses.
